Welcome
to Edouard Reny's discography !!! The musical adventure started 10 years ago when Edouard was already playing around with his guitar and a few friends. Unfortunately his budget was extremely limited to just a guitar, a mike and a keyboard. A multi-track recording tool was out of financial reach! So most of the songs were just recorded on a tape. in 2004, he found this tape when fiddling around old stuff. And from that he tried to 're-master' as best as he could the songs: the first album, "space agency" was born. In 1997, his first salary landed on his bank account and was invested straight away in a digital 8 track multi-track recorder from Fostex (DMT8VF). All his ideas that had been boiling inside for so long exploded in a the laps of a few month to give this real 'first album': Des Rêves Sans Lendemain. This set of songs represent the most difficult period of his life where he ... 'matured' from a boy to a man. The second album, Big-Bang, came soon after, written in the same spirit but more oriented towards pop music. The title was chosen to express a 'rebirth' after the dark period mentioned previously. The following albums, Notre Avenir and Une Vue De l'Esprit follows Edouard musical spirit allying melodious pop and rock with a glimpse of celtic and more traditional tunes. They also reflects on his experience in Japan where he lived for 2 years. Insanity, is an experiment where Edouard tries to 'accoustify' a bit more his music. In order to find some reference, he plays a few covers using only the piano and the guitar. Half of the album is also composed of compositions, some being inspired by his Maurician experience. Metamorph,
expresses the continuity of Edouard's musical evolution. This album is
also a picture of his personal life during that period. Three songs written
in collaboration with his hard rock band of the time (Stone Cold Prophets)
are recorded live on the album. Another encounter with a great singer,
Gaya, lead to a
song that became the title of the album: 'Metamorph'. Edouard
was fascinated by the landing of Huygens on Titan, Saturn's largest moon.
He started to dream about lakes of liquid methane illuminated by a brownish
orangy sky. And why not windsurfing on them? the winds are known to be
similar in intensity to those on Earth...He dedicated an instumental piece
to this dream: it became the title of this album: Finally, the last album, Namakat, is currently being produced . Today, 5 musical pieces are available and express a new evolution in Edouard's Musical vibe. Please click on the album covers to select the album of your choice.
